Now I like rollercoasters as much as the next thrill-seeker, but I've never been overly fond of having the floor pulled out from under me while I dangle, all powerless and discombobulated - nose running and mugging like a gorilla in a wind tunnel. Yeah, that ride sucks and I don't have the stomach for it.
So I'm swearing off rollercoasters; things that defy the laws of physics; things that should never ever work out; and things I can't even hope to control. Because you know what, they always turn out to be a let down. A short-lived thrill followed by crushing disappointment.
Sometimes it's best just to keep your feet planted firmly on the ground and rely only on yourself.
You can't come crashing down at a rate of knots if your feet are already planted firmly on terra firma.
